Why a Blog on Influence?

After 20 years of experience in organizations both large and small, I have come to an important conclusion: formal authority is not always the key to business success.  More often than not, it is influential people, regardless of rank or direct authority, who get things done and deliver results.

The content for most of the posts on Saying What You Mean originates from the research I’ve conducted in order to create performance-driven leadership training programs for corporations. Many business professionals have used the insights presented here to change how they lead, leverage influence, and equip their teams for greater productivity and measurable results.

Saying What You Mean focuses on enhancing influence for the purpose of achieving organizational objectives and contributing to  the greater good. The posts and discussions include topics such as building trusting relationships, earning credibility, and acting with integrity.

My hope is that each reader finds value in the verbiage. Use the ideas and strategies presented here to leave a legacy of influential leadership.

  4. Hmm it appears like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any points for first-time blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.

  5. Helpful info. Fortunate me I discovered your website accidentally, and I’m shocked why this accident didn’t happened in advance! I bookmarked it.

  8. Hello! I could have sworn I’ve been to this site before but after browsing through some of the post I realized it’s new to me. Anyways, I’m definitely glad I found it and I’ll be book-marking and checking back frequently!

  9. We have a website you might find interesting. It’s called http://www.HumilityImperative.com and it is based on an article Dave Balter wrote for Inc. Magazine about the importance of humility for business leaders. The response to the article was so strong he created this site to collect people’s personal stories about ego and humility in the workplace. It has many interesting stories, including some from Guy Kawaski and Seth Godin. We’d thought you and your readers might have some stories to contribute.
